What is cast nylon pipe?

Cast nylon pipe is an engineering plastic pipe formed by casting a single mold under high temperature and normal pressure using anionic polymerization technology, combining caprolactam monomers with catalysts.

What types of cast nylon pipe and what are their performance characteristics? 

The main types of cast nylon pipe include MC nylon pipe, MC901 nylon pipe, oil filled nylon pipe, glass filled nylon pipe, MoS₂ filled nylon pipe, and solid-lubricated nylon pipe.

MC nylon pipe characteristics: Unmodified cast nylon 6 closely resembles nylon 66 in properties. It offers excellent overall performance, including high strength, rigidity, hardness, creep resistance, wear resistance, heat aging resistance, and good machinability.

MC901 nylon pipe characteristics: This modified nylon 6 has a distinctive blue color, higher toughness and flexibility than standard cast nylon, and superior fatigue resistance, making it ideal for gears, rack-and-pinion systems, and transmission components.

Oil filled nylon pipe characteristics: This cast nylon 6 is truly self-lubricating, specifically developed for parts that cannot be lubricated, operate under high loads, or run at low speeds. MoS₂ filled nylon pipe characteristics: By incorporating MoS₂ powder into cast nylon 6, this material maintains the impact and fatigue resistance of unmodified cast nylon while enhancing load-bearing capacity and wear resistance. It is widely used in manufacturing gears, bearings, star wheels, and bushings.

Solid-lubricated nylon pipe characteristics: This cast nylon 6 contains solid lubricants, providing self-lubrication, excellent friction performance, outstanding wear resistance, and superior pressure-speed capability—up to five times better than standard cast nylon. It is especially suitable for high-speed, non-lubricable moving parts and serves as a perfect complement to oil filled nylon.

Glass filled nylon pipe is primarily used in three key areas: automotive components, electronics and electrical appliances, and industrial machinery. Typical applications include engine intake manifolds and cooling system parts in automobiles.

MoS₂ filled nylon pipe nylon tubing is mainly used in high-wear, high-load industrial environments. Leveraging the wear-resistant properties of MoS₂, it extends component life—ideal for wear-resistant transmission parts like gears, bearings, star wheels, bushings, and rotating shafts (commonly found in agricultural machinery).
