nylon pipe (polyamide), referred to as PA tube, depending on the process, it can be divided into cast nylon pipe and extruded nylon pipe. It possesses excellent properties such as tensile strength, impact resistance, rigidity, wear resistance, self-lubrication, chemical resistance, and surface hardness. It is widely used in industrial fields like machinery, mining, chemical industry, and automobiles, replacing metal parts to solve problems related to wear resistance, heavy loads, corrosion, and lubrication. The core value is “replacing steel with plastic”.
cast nylon pipe has great stability against abrasion, tensile and bending properties, and is easy to install without any special tools. Its good comprehensive performance is unmatched by copper pipes, steel pipes and rubber pipes, and it is an ideal material to replace copper, steel and rubber.
1. High strength and load-bearing capacity: Molecular weight can reach 70,000 – 100,000. The mechanical strength is approximately 1.5 times higher than that of ordinary nylon and can withstand high loads for a long time at 80 – 120℃ under normal working conditions, without undergoing creep deformation.
2. Good toughness and impact resistance: It has good elasticity recovery and is unlikely to undergo permanent deformation after being bent under force. It can resist repeated high-frequency impacts and is not prone to cracking.
3. Excellent wear resistance: Its wear resistance is superior to bronze, cast iron and carbon steel, and it can effectively replace metals for making wear-resistant parts, with a lifespan typically increased by 4 – 5 times.
4. Excellent self-lubrication: The friction coefficient is low, and it still performs well in the absence of oil or with insufficient oil lubrication. The friction coefficient is about 8.8 times lower than that of steel and about 8.3 times lower than that of copper.
5. Does not damage the mating parts: The surface hardness is lower than that of metals, and it will not scratch or wear the corresponding metal components during operation, helping to extend the lifespan of the entire equipment.
6. Corrosion resistance: It has good chemical stability against alkali, alcohol, ether, hydrocarbons, weak acids, lubricating oil, detergents and water (including seawater).
7. Lightweight: The specific gravity is only one seventh of that of copper. A 400-kilogram nylon product has an actual volume equivalent to 2.7 tons of steel or 3 tons of bronze, significantly reducing the equipment’s weight.
8. Noise reduction and vibration damping: The elastic modulus is much lower than that of metals, and it has strong attenuation ability for mechanical vibrations. It can effectively absorb vibrations during the transmission process and reduce operating noise.
